From June 22 to 25, Automate 2026 took place at McCormick Place in Chicago, bringing together the global robotics and automation community at a record-breaking scale. Generalized Picking of Transparent Objects

Powered by self-developed AI imaging algorithms and an AI “Brain” trained on massive real-world data, the system accurately identifies and picks common items such as transparent packaged goods, plastic storage boxes, and plastic bottles. With intelligent collision detection and path planning, it ensures stable picking and loading of randomly placed or densely stacked objects. Mech-Mind’s brand-new flagship product, the Mech-Eye ULTRA M-GL high-resolution, high-speed industrial 3D camera, features a dedicated transparent object imaging mode that effectively handles optical interference from highly transparent materials, including multipath refraction and multiple reflections. The Mech-Eye ULTRA M-GL significantly improves imaging quality for transparent and translucent objects, helping address automation challenges in retail, healthcare, and more applications.

Dynamic Part Tracking & Picking on Conveyor

Precise Machine Tending of Sheet Metal Parts from a Deep Bin

On-site image Mech-Mind’s general-purpose “Eye + Brain” delivers strong performance in complex loading scenarios, including thin-walled parts, deep bins, and randomly stacked materials. It enables robots to accurately detect reflective and irregular sheet metal parts from long distances, while autonomously planning collision-free grasping paths for precise deep-bin loading. With accuracy, cycle time, and bin clearance rate meeting production requirements, the solution has already been deployed at scale in the automotive industry.

The Mech-Eye ULTRA M-GL industrial 3D camera features dedicated hardware upgrades and algorithm optimizations for thin-walled parts. With enhanced AI imaging capabilities, it delivers robust imaging of thin-walled workpieces at the 1 mm level while clearly capturing fine contour details. High-Precision Automotive Part Loading on Hanging Racks

On-site image The unit adopts a collaborative 2D + 3D vision-based Eye + Brain system to meet the high-precision requirements of hanging rack loading for automotive sheet metal parts such as control arms. The 3D vision system provides high-quality part data and grasping guidance based on advanced imaging algorithms, while the Mech-Eye AIC-LITE 2D smart camera performs secondary localization, achieving a positioning accuracy of up to ±0.5 mm.

In the rack loading process, the Mech-Eye NANO ULTRA-GL delivers sub-millimeter accuracy in a compact design, moving flexibly with the robot to capture close-up images of rack hooks. This enables precise detection of hook positions for high-precision rack loading. Powered by advanced AI algorithms, the system handles challenges such as slight hood deformation, pose variations, and different rack types. It ensures stable and accurate placement of workpieces, improving loading stability and flexibility in complex tooling scenarios while reducing the cost for customized fixtures. The Mech-Eye 2D Smart Camera AIC-Lite Series is designed to work seamlessly with 3D vision systems, enabling fast deployment of flexible and easy-to-integrate 2D + 3D vision solutions. The series can be widely used in applications such as precision pose correction, OCR / code recognition, and error-proofing check, covering industries including automotive, food packaging, pharmaceuticals, and consumer electronics.

High-Speed Picking of Small Bolts

On-site image Powered by general-purpose “Eye + Brain”, the robot identifies black and reflective bolts, while intelligently planning grasping and placement paths for color-based sorting into trays. With precise motion control, it calculates grasping angles in real time to ensure stable and precise handling, preventing collisions and dropped parts. The system delivers high-speed picking with a cycle time of up to 1.7 seconds per part, meeting the demands of fast-paced production lines. It has been widely used for small-part picking, loading, and sorting across industries such as automotive, machinery, and home appliances.

03 General-purpose Eye + Brain Enables Scalable Industrial Quality Control

Electronic Control Unit (ECU) Glue Bead Inspection

On-site photo Production interface With the Mech-Eye LNX-8080-GL 3D Laser Profiler and the Mech-MSR 3D Measurement and Inspection Software, the “Eye + Brain” system accurately recognizes transparent and translucent glue beads, measuring bead width, height, and position with high speed and precision. It simultaneously detects defects such as broken glue beads, overflow, and air bubbles. The solution supports a wide range of high-precision glue bead inspection applications across automotive, electronics, EV batteries, and consumer electronics.

CAD Compare

On-site image Production interface With the Mech-Eye LNX-7580-GL 3D Laser Profiler and the Mech-MSR 3D Measurement and Inspection Software, the general-purpose “Eye + Brain” provides high-precision 3D data at high speed, simultaneously analyzing the fused 3D data through full-scale comparison with the standard CAD model to ensure accurate deviation analysis.

The Mech-Eye LNX-7580-GL 3D Laser Profiler supports single-frame HDR—capturing high-quality 3D point cloud data of workpieces with dark and reflective surfaces at a single scan. The dual-camera system meets the demands for workpieces requiring a larger FOV. The Mech-MSR is equipped with AI tools supporting CAD deviation analysis and enables one-click comparison between input images and CAD models. It intuitively presents even the smallest deviations, delivering highly efficient end-to-end inspection. The system can be further applied to 3D inspection for a broader range of high-precision components.

Tire DOT Code Reading

On-site image Production interface With the Mech-Eye LNX-75300-GL 3D Laser Profiler supporting a wide X-axis and Z-axis inspection range, the system provides high-resolution imaging of large tires with black, light-absorbing surfaces and complex tread patterns in a single scan. Mech-Mind’s self-developed deep learning algorithms accurately recognize tire surface characters under challenging conditions such as complex fonts, variable positioning, and background interference. With a recognition accuracy of ≥99.9%, the system enables reliable code reading and quality traceability in tire production. It has already been deployed at scale in production lines, supporting high-quality automated tire manufacturing.
