The vision-guided robot is required to handle large pallets (e.g., 1.4 m × 1.2 m × 1.95 m) with deformable and densely piled sacks. Sacks with reflective, wrinkled, and patterned surfaces impacts the image quality and recognition of 3D vision system. The Mech-Mind 3D vision system is required to solve the challenging situation.

The solution:

  1. Mech-Eye DEEP-GL, installed above the workstation, covers large pallets;

  2. Imaging of the whole layer with only one exposure;

  3. The vision system identifies the poses and positions of sacks with reflective, wrinkled, and patterned surfaces;

  4. The system calculates optimal picking points, allowing for accurate picking;

  5. The vision-guided robot works with bag-breaking machines to ensure a smoother workflow.
